Permit to travel to Mexico: If you are a U.S. citizen you are required to fill out a permit to travel into Mexico. This permit can be found, filled, and submitted in any board of entry/customs or even at the Mexican airport. However, we highly recommend filling this out at the border as customs aren’t always in the airport. Your first 7 days are free as long as you return the permit within the week. Any extra days have a fee. Make sure to have your passport, flight, and hotel information handy.
Transportation: Uber is perhaps the biggest and easiest way of moving around Guadalajara. We have found Ubers to be as cheap as $3 when traveling there. However, for the airport to hotel transport, it can be difficult to find an Uber and taxis are mostly used. They have set rates for the taxis at the airport depending on your drop off zone. The approximated rate from the airport to the hotel is about $30-$35.
Safe Riding: We would love to celebrate with you all night and have you arrive back to your hotel safely! We highly recommend SCHEDULING an UBER for after the wedding beforehand to ensure you have a quick and guaranteed transport late at night.
Airline Check In is Essential: If traveling through Mexican Airlines and no assigned seat purchased, people run the risk of being placed on an overbooked flight. Please check your tickets and airline protocol to “CHECK-IN” and confirm the spot on the plane.
